Building and maintaining strength is a vital part of having a healthy, happy body and mind. Traditional yoga classes don't offer much in the way of strength work, which is fine because we have gyms and weight training etc. But what about those of us who don't like gyms and feel weight training isn't for us? Enter Mindful Strength and Stretch, a combination of yoga shapes and movements with a strength training component. Using props such as resistance bands, blankets, blocks and more you will mindfully bring a strength element into your yoga practice. This kind of work is excellent for building and maintaining bone density and supporting joint health and can add a lot to our more traditional yoga practice too.
This class is taught by Ellen Carr who has trained as a Yoga with Resistance Bands Teacher with Laurel Beversdorf, in Natural Posture and Alignment with Katy Bowman and in Joint Safety, Posture and Alignment with Rehab Yoga.
