Our Story
Creative Calm Yoga Studio was birthed in 2017 by 2 independent Yoga Teachers coming together to create a beautiful space for them & others to work from.
An altruistic business model built on the intention to allow yoga teachers to thrive.
We welcomed in some of the best local teachers, introduced our Yoga Teaching Training Academy, & began to offer Hatha Yoga & Meditation, Creating Calm for the people of Prestwich & beyond.

2023 saw a change in half of the business partnership as we continued to grow & diversify our offering. Fast becoming a staple for Pregnancy Yoga, Mamas & babies as well as the Mini Yogi Tribe. Adding Holistic therapies, sound baths, & lots of new classes & teachers.
That brings us up to date, 2024 we expanded opening our Creative Calm Therapy Rooms & additional ground floor studio. Bringing wellness practices under the same roof.

Hayley Simpson
Studio Owner & Teacher.
Aka The Yoga Lady
Hatha Yoga Teacher, Reiki Master, Shamanic Practitioner & Doula.
Qualified in Adult Yoga, Pregnancy Yoga & hypnotherapy for Birth. Postnatal Yoga, Kids Yoga, Teens & Tweens. Yotism ( Yoga for Autism )
Leader of The Kids Yoga Holiday club.
​Yoga for me is a way of life, practicing on and off the mat.
I have tonnes of energy, vibrating at a high frequency with a passion to hold space for others through Yoga and Reiki.
Yoga really is for everyBODY and I strive to create accessible classes for all.
After all yoga isn't about how it looks, it's about what you feel on the inside!

Karen Hadgett
Studio Owner & Teacher
Karen caught the yoga bug in 1995 She couldn’t believe how stretched and calm she felt after her first class
Karen trained as a yoga teacher with Brian Cooper, studying Ashtanga with Iyengar influenced alignment and other traditional yoga practices, graduating in 2006.
Karen has been a yoga geek for many years, attending workshops & trainings with a variety of highly respected teachers. She then spends time at home furthering her studies, so that she can pass on all that she has learnt. Karen is also a qualified Hanna Somatics Educator & a Yoga Nidra Facilitator.
Karen brings a wealth of experience and knowledge heading up our Teacher Training Academy.

Justine Boardman
Yoga Teacher.
Justine has been practising Yoga for 30 years. She was introduced to yoga by a teaching colleague and can still remember that blissful feeling of 'stretch and relax' that she experienced in her first class.

Rachel Livesey
Yoga Teacher.
I have practiced yoga for almost 20 years and have often shared yoga sessions with the children I’ve taught in both in mainstream and SEND schools. In 2023 I decided it was time to leave my assistant head role and classroom teaching to combine my love of yoga and my passion for working with SEND children.
I completed my SEN yoga and wellbeing course with BEAM academy and was then very fortunate to spend some time in Sri Lanka with Middle Path Movement Yoga School completing my 200hr training in the most incredible setting.
I offer Hatha Flow classes at the studio as well as working alongside The Yoga Lady for the Kids Holiday Club.
Paul Cooper
Yoga & Pilates Teacher

A Yoga Teacher for 15 years and a Pilates instructor for 21 years.
My interest in pilates first came to came to light when I joined a gym in 2001. I wasn’t interested in bulking up with huge free weights but I wanted a very strong lean body with the flexibility to match so pilates fitted the bill, but I noted the emphasis on the importance on a strong spine/core (abdominal) strength.
Trained in Ashtanga Yoga in 2009.
I bring a unique range of strength building & flexibility increasing classes suitable for all abilities to the studio.
As well as holding the men only classes and spaces. ​
Amy Frieze
Yoga Teacher & Trainee Life Coach
As a qualified yoga instructor and trainee life coach, I help individuals achieve personal growth and balance through mindfulness and self-empowerment
My goal is to support as many people as possible to follow their dreams. I want to help them achieve their goals, no matter how far away they may feel.
I qualified as a Yoga Teacher in 2020 & have been offering classes and one-to-one sessions ever since.
I have a lot of knowledge which has only grown through my own personal experience and I look forward to sharing it with you all.

Rachel Mellish
Sound Practitioner & Therapist
I am a Reiki Master, have a love for crystals and have trained as a Sound Healer. I am passionate about helping others and see the value making self care techniques available to everyone including children.
My goal is to bring holistic therapy and treatments to more communities and groups to allow more people the opportunity to find what self care practises work for them. This has enabled me to work with schools, businesses, mum and baby groups and charities.
Martyn Cawthorne
Gong Practitioner & Sound Healer.
I’m a fully qualified and deeply committed gong practitioner/sound healer, having graduated from the College Of Sound Healing (the full one year training course).
I love to play for people and to be a channel for healing energy. I have found that the work
with gongs is exceptionally well-received in terms of relaxation, revitalisation, blockage/toxin release and sheer pleasure.
I have been playing instruments for most of my life. I’ve been meditating and attending retreats for over twenty-five years. I’m driven by a passion for entering the creative flow and joining with others in the spaces thereby created. My dearest loves are sound, silence and sharing.

Massage & Holistic Therapist
A holistic therapist for over 15 years, providing a wide range of Massage treatments, such as deep tissue, pregnancy and lymphatic drainage. I also provide Reflexology, Bowen Technique and Natural Facials.

Having trained with the Yoga Teaching Academy here at Creative Calm, I now teach Hatha Yoga classes here at this beautiful studio and I run my Calm Space Soundbaths here too!
I have been practicing yoga for many years and its an absolute pleasure to be teaching / sharing Yoga with others. It's a true passion of mine and i feel very lucky to get to do this as a job.
